Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry

alt text
"One of the reasons I chose MB&B was the diversity of the program. Labs range from very physical to very biochemical, so there are options for many different types of research. The students in MB&B also come from many different academic backgrounds, which results in an excellent learning environment. I have learned a lot from my fellow classmates as well as the many highly respected faculty."
David DeWitt
Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry Track

The Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry (MB&B) graduate program is designed to prepare students for careers as independent investigators able to use and develop methods in molecular genetics, biochemistry, and structural biology. The faculty share a commitment to understanding biological problems at a molecular level. The diversity of faculty interests is reflected in the diversity of graduate students attracted to the program, with backgrounds ranging from biology and biochemistry to chemistry and physics.
